Clearly, I'm new at this..I don't entirely expect anyone to ever follow me, but I figure this will be a good way to kill time... when I have any that is.
My name is Michaela. I'm seventeen years old and live in Cincinnati, Ohio... Cincinnati is a big city, however, I live in a part that doesn't really have a whole lot going for it.
I'm a senior in high school. About to graduate.. and not entirely ready to?
For my Freshman year, I will be attending a community college.
Sophomore year and on I will be attending Bowling Green State University for music education and vocal performance.
I have a best friend
named Megan. We've known each other for a few years but haven't truly become close friends until this year.. The first time we met, I thought she was uptight and snobby and she thought I was weird and obnoxious. Well we both grew up and got to know each other and realized we made a pretty awesome team. We're a lot alike.. well except for the music we listen to. She LOVES country... It makes me wanna throw up. And I'm sure that my music makes her feel the same way. She's extremely talented in both Violin and Vocal. She's been accepted into so many colleges I can't even begin to list them all here. Personally, I'm hoping she will wind up going to CCM (College Conservatory of Music) for my own selfish purposes.. Because at least she will still be in Cincinnati... or Ohio for that matter! She's always wanted to go to Northwestern College and Belmont... well she got accepted into both... surprise surprise. No doubt she will go far some day... I just don't want her to go far away yet! Who else will I be able to make fat faces with and go to Taco Bell late at night while saying things that don't make sense... i.e. "This is the skinniest straw I've ever tasted." I will definitely miss her.
I also have a "little sister" named Lindsey. She's Megan's freshman sister but the closest thing I have to an actual sister. She says really REALLY weird things... but things that are hysterically funny. For an outsider on her personality, they probably wouldn't get it... they would just think she was crazy. Well, she is crazy, but pretty smart too. Megan and I both agree that she hangs out with the wrong people some times and that she can do much better but I don't think she can see that.. She's pretty much our tag-along.. No matter where Megan and I decide to go, it's pretty much guaranteed she'll be there with us! Currently, we are both in our school's production of "Hello, Dolly!" That gives us more time to hang out with each other... and more car rides with Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," and Kelly's "Let me Borrow that Top."
My mom and I ar
e very close and I try to spend as much time with her as I can. Two years ago I was going through an "oh my life is so horrible and I'm going to take it out on my mother" phase.. even though I had it extremely good and couldn't see that. Now she means more to me than anything in the world. I can't wait for the days I don't have to work, or have musical rehearsal so we can plan something. We suffer together, we learn together, we laugh together and we grow together. I will never have a person in my life that means more to me than she does.I have 12 cats (yeah, twelve). I also have a dog, 2 fish, and two pet rats. We have a big thing for rescuing animals..
I've never known my father, nor do I ever want to know him. I have a dad. I know what you're thinking... a father and a dad are the same thing.. Not in my mind... A father is merely a sperm donor and a dad is someone who will always be there for you. I have a dad named Rob. He is my mom's husband and has been a part of my family for over 10 years.I have a brother named Corey. Corey, Corey... I think I will save that whole story for another blog.. Also a part of my family are Rob's two sons; Kyle and Jason. Kyle is a sophomore in high school and Jason is 28. I guess that pretty much tells you the basics of my family.
Not a huge family... put a highly fun and dysfunctional one though..
A little more of a background on me...I sing. It's become more of a lifestyle than a hobby.
I've been singing I guess since I popped out of the womb.
Although I've always liked to sing.. I never loved it until my freshman year in high school.
Freshman year - Freshman chorus.
Sophomore year - Women's chorus, Mixed chorus, Show choir.
Junior year - Women's chorus, Mixed chorus, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Summer chorus.
Senior year - Women's chorus (president), Mixed chorus (publicist), Vocal Jazz ensemble, Ohio
Ambassadors of Music.
I guess it's pretty much taken up all of my high school time.
I take voice lessons in Classical/Musical Theater but my real heart is in singing stripped down acoustic rock music.
I play guitar... I'm not the best, but I get by with a few good chords and bar chords.
So to sum everything up, I love to sing, my friends and family mean the world to me, and that's about it I guess. I intend to get on here at least once a week.. Depending on my schedule, maybe more, maybe less.
